who is mr. car shipper?
Mr. Car Shipper began in 2002 as Teeter Auto Transport and was a Midwest regional car hauling company working for car dealers and auto auctions. In 2004, they added brokerage services to service the newly launched eBay Motors market which lead the way for consumers buying and selling vehicles all over the country.
In 2012, the company rebranded to the Mr. Car Shipper name and started focusing on the moving market supporting consumers who are moving their home more than 500 miles. Since then, Mr. Car Shipper has earned the right to be the recommended car shipping partner for the top 3 self service moving companies in the U.S.: PODS, U-Pack, and 1-800-Pack-Rat.

what positions are available
Transport booking ASSOCIATE (tba)
(Position currently closed)
Our TBA position is basically a customer service position that assists customers who want to book their load. As the recommended car shipping partner for major moving companies, we get warm leads from our referring partners, and this position's responsibility is to quote the job, follow up with the customer, and answer any questions they have along with explaining the Mr. Car Shipper difference.
What will some of your tasks be?
- Convert incoming leads to quotes
- Follow up with quoted customers to regularly increase conversion rate
- Continually monitor communication channels so that customers can reach you easily
- Work in tandem on a team with your dispatcher - this will include some cross-training in that position
What are the minimum requirements?
- Have outstanding people skills with the heart of a teacher
- Familiarity with Gmail, Google apps (Docs, Sheets, etc), and ability to perform basic computer functions
- Basic understanding of good customer service and phone etiquette
- Work well in a team environment
- Work in office 40 hours per week
Compensation: Starting at $19/hr + commission and benefits
Dispatcher
Our Dispatcher position is central to our organization. They execute order fulfillment and organization and are the "Chief Cat Herder" of every order that we process.
Once a TBA books a new customer, it is the Dispatcher's role to make sure everything is good to go. They post our vehicles to industry load boards, negotiate with carriers, manage the customer's expectations with the drivers, and ensure that the transport goes as planned. When things do go off plan, it is their role to either get it back on track or make a new plan.
If you are the type of person who is energized by managing multiple balls in the air, this may be a good fit for you. It requires an organized mind, the ability to adapt, and a calm personality.
What will some of your tasks be?
- Communicate clearly, truthfully, and in a timely manner between the customer and carrier
- Post new orders to industry load boards
- Research and ensure that orders posted to the load board are competitively priced and highly visible
- Manage communication between customer and carrier, and document detailed notes in our order tracking system
- Work to resolve issues that may arise
- Perform various administrative tasks related to the orders
- Work in tandem on a team with your TBA - this will include some cross-training
What are the minimum requirements?
